The brother of that Arsenio Rodriguez album of last week. It has a
cover by the same artist, that much is clear. I guess it must be
more or less from the same year aswell. It sure sounds like it.
One of the inventors of Cuban Son with a great LP.

  1. Arsenio and Chappottin were also half-brothers, and Chappottin took over Arsenio’s band when Arsenio left Cuba for New York City.

  3. This is incredibly cool. I have a vinyl copy in my collection and just now made a blog entry referring people to your blog.
    You might want to double check, but I believe that Felix Chappottin was actually Chano Pozo’s half brother, and I think he played with Arsenio’s band in the 1940’s. When Arsenio moved to New York, his band members formed two groups-Chappottin Y Sus Estrellas, and Chocolate Y Sus Estrellas.
