Jonah Moyo and Devera Ngwena – MFZ Vol. 10,WEA International 1986

Jonah Moyo, front, cd size

Highly infectious is this Music From Zimbabwe. Jonah Moyo
and his Devera Ngwena are extremely popular in their
country. Very understandable if you hear this superb LP.
This is volume 10 of a series which I hope to bring to you
in the future. Most of them are still on my huntinglist.
Next month we’ll already have the next big recordfair
in Utrecht. I am already looking forward to it.
For now, listen and dance to this sweet piece of vinyl,

tracks;

1 Masvingo ne carpet
2 Huyai mose
3 Ngatishandei pamwe
4 Victoria falls
5 Unobuda nepi
6 Ndakatadza here
7 Uchaendepi
8 Ndochema naani

    Amazing music – don’t miss.

The download file has a size mismatch problem and could be opened with winzip. However the 7zip software (download from http://www.7-zip.org/) did the trick. Even 7 zip reported an error but unzipped the file successfully.

Many thanks for sharing. Apurva from Pune, India.

I’m sorry to say this again, Moos, but the file seems to be damaged. I have downloaded it three times and track 2 is always missing. It is the same with Guillermo Portabales. I have downloaded it now six times and I have never got it in full. Sometimes 26Mb, usually less. Can you do something, please?

thanks so much for all the music and for letting me hear the world. if you're going to let us beggars be choosers, i have to cast a vote for columbia. i'm an american redneck and can't explain why that country's music in particular speaks to me, but i'm addicted and can't get enough, especially cumbia. thanks again!

Soukous and ghanaian highlife are very good choices but could you offer anything of Bella Bellow?
It's long time ago that I travelled and stayed in Africa myself. Once I owned a tape her but it got lost.

I follow your blog since 2009 and I had much pleasure always.

Thank you very much!

    Hi
Nice Jit here Moos
Suggestions: more Zim (e.g. early Marxist Brothers, if for nothing other than the name, Leonard Dembo, Nyami Nyami Sounds etc) anything on Discos Fuentes label (Heh, heh, you got there before me!!), this 'Pinduca' sounds interesting. Oh come on – anything! (though I draw the line at One Direction!).
Regards

    Sparkling is the word man.

This is loveable within about 2 seconds.

I think I'm going to be a regular here…

Ooh, I see you're doing requests.

I have a few tracks by the Harare Mambos taped off John Peel from back in the 1980s. They're all sizzlers.

Any albums by said ensemble would most likely blow my mind.

Beautiful, thanks! Love the Taxi Driver album. Wild guitar sound.

To the Anonymous looking for Bella Bellow:
here's my vinyl rip of "Bella Bellow – Album Souvenir", a compilation on the Sonodisc label, issued 1977. Plus a few extras (videos, singles etc). Enjoy!

http://2pzyu4hea0.1fichier.com/
or
http://www7.zippyshare.com/v/2865488/file.html<br
