Thank you for this one. The record alternates between kiSwahili and kiKamba ( Kakai’s first tongue).
    Thanks.

Thank you very much for providing this nice music from Kenya.

Thought that Benga is Luo music, but here all songs are in Kiswahili except nr 6.

    Anyway, nice music. Am grateful!

Thanks Moss. I can’t help but notice the influence of the Congolese guitar style in some of their songs. Of course, Kenya is not far from the Congos.

Thanks for this LP Moos. I missed the post because I have a bookmark which links directly to the “Congo” label. By the way these musicians are from my home district! I’ll be watching this space in case you decide to surprise us with more music from Kilimambogo or other bands from Eastern Kenya. Kilimambogo played a mixture of styles ranging from “Cavacha”, “Watergate”, “Bumping” to the typical Kamba “Kinze”. Naturally they could play “Benga” very well but it wasn’t their main showpiece. Track 3 should really be labelled “Mwongeli” but never mind! It’s sung in both Kiswahili and Kikamba.

So I’ve downloaded a number of your posts, although it sometimes takes a few months before I can give it much burn.

That said, this album is bananas and easily one of the best recording I’ve heard in the genre. The music bounces so effortlessly, the rhythms are fantastic, and in general this lp is fire. Thanks a ton for spreading the music!
