Hoeveel prachtige platen Lee Perry ook gemaakt heeft, Roast Fish, Colly
Weed & Corn Bread blijft voor mij de allermooiste. Samen met de twee
Super Ape’s draai ik hem nog altijd met enorm veel plezier. De subtiele
geluidjes, belletjes, loeiende koeien, huilende baby’s,
dit zijn platen die nooit gaan vervelen.

No matter how many wonderful records Lee Perry made, Roast Fish, Colly
Weed & Corn Bread remains the very best for me. Together with the two
Super Ape’s I still play it with lots of pleasure. The subtle little sounds, bells,
mooing cows, crying babies, these are records
that will never bore ..

    From the Heart of the Congo, released in the beginning of the nineties. on Jolie Zaiire/Tropical Sounds. Was an album that got a wide-spread release for Lee Perry aficionados allover the world. 2 Congolese musicians, Seke Molenga, Kalo Kawongolo, members of Tabu Ley’s orchestre Afrisa turned up at the Black Ark Lee Perry got in touch with the Motherland, a new chapter in Jah prophecy to the minister of Information on Rasta Far I, Lee “Scratch” Perry. Later on, Runn Records released the album on cd.
    In the 2006, Trojan records recorded this album from the vaults as: Seke Molenga & Kalo Kawongolo ‎– Lee Perry Presents…African Roots
