Youssou N’Dour et le Super Etoile de Dakar
Immigrés / Bitim Rew, Celluloid 1985

Mbalax they call it back in Senegal and Youssou N’Dour is inventing it
on this LP. Do it like this,
Stand in the middle of your room, turn up the volume, close your
eyes, start # 1 and let the warm flow of Youssou’s sound
come over you, those drums, his voice, that baseline……

tracks;

1 Immigres / Bitim rew
2 Pitche mi
3 Taaw
4 Badou

After enjoying the fantastic Rail Band Lp I’ve tried with this.
I’m listening now and it sounds as if you have it in vinyl, I have a copy of Sterns reissued on CD in 2003 but your recording has a much cleaner sound, really fantastic to hear this sound in mp3, many thanks.
    P.D.
This year we are emerging real wonders of African musicin the blogs but very few of western africa and less for mbalak, thanks again.
For those who want to dance good mbalak, purchase the DVD of Youssou Bercy 2004 and especially Bercy 2005 first and second part, nothing to do with the commercial version of the CD’s of recent years for the international market.
    Really powerful African Music.

Have you heard le Super Etoile de Dakar with ‘Absa Gueye’ already ?
you can find it under the label Afro-Cuban on my sidebar.
very early Youssou work, you’ll like that very much too.
    thanks.

I have this cd on my IPod. To be honest with you, it’s a very nice album especially the number 2 track. That’s my favorite, and it always moved me whenever I listen to it.
