Rolando Laserie – Sabor, Gema 1976

We’ve seen a Rolando Laserie LP before at Global Groove,
but this one is much older. From ’76 comes this Bolero LP,
it contains some of his biggest hits from those days.

    Hey there! I think this record is actually from 1956, but perhaps reissued in 1976.

    The first track is ”Mentiras Tuyas,” a ballad by Mario Fernandez Porta. Porta considered Laserie’s voice too gruff for the song, but couldn’t deny the popularity of the record, which sold 30,000 copies the first week. This all took place in 1956, but great boleros!
