Johnnie Ringo – Riding West
Jah Guidance 1982
We’ve heard a lot of African music lately, many Jamaican singers
claim they want to repatriate and go back to Africa, to Ethiopia.
Johnnie Ringo is on another trip, maybe he expected to sell more
albums in the USA, being a cowboy. But reggae aswell as all
other black music, leads us eventually back to Africa.
tracks;
1 Horse man
2 Connection of connection
3 Jah Jah guide over me
4 Gun shot
5 Ringo life story
6 Don’t know much
7 Water tank
8 Morning flight
9 Me no want
10 I can’t stand it

More rub-a-dub! Lawd ‘ave mercy, this one is great! Ringo is one of my favorite deejays of the early dancehall. It’s funny you just posted this album, I received a copy of this exact record in the mail just yesterday. Bought it on eBay.
Big up youself, and keep the rub-a-dub coming!
(PS. did you ever hear Ranking Joe’s – Disco Skate LP? that’s what the early dancehall is all about, and a great cover on that one as well!)
