Bavon Marie Marie & l’Orchestre Negro Succes -l’Intrépide, african 1970
After the tragic death of Bavon Marie Marie on august 5, 1970, it was
Leon Bholen himself who compiled this wonderful LP. It contains some
of his own favourites with Bavon. Some time ago I already posted this_one .
An ode to the music of Franco’s younger brother, Siongo Bavon Marie Marie.

THANK YOU!! I made a cheap cassette of this in the early eighties, from a batch of stuff Tom Verlaine of Television sold to a friend, and I’ve been looking to upgrade ever since. Curiously, the last track on Verlaine’s Dreamtime album is called Mary Marie. Anyway, this is a very welcome sight… Gracias!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!, I have always longed for these Bavon’s songs in this part of Africa. I used to listen to them during my childhood in the 70’s from a shortwave radio station which was broadcasting from somewhere in Eastern Congo (now DRC). But those were the very good days. These Bavon’s music are completely lacking in Kenya. How about more such as:- (1). Bavon Marie Marie et le Negro Succes Vol. 1 1996 ; (2).
