Smart Nkansah, Agyaaku, the Sunsum Band featuring Becky B.
Odo ( Love ), ASA Records 1984

Let’s see what we got here. Smart Nkansah and Agyaaku are friends
since they played together in Yamoah’s Guitar Band in the late 60’s.
They went separate ways for some time, Agyaaku stayed with Yamoah’s
and Smart Nkansah worked with the Sweet Talks. They rejoined and started
this band around 1981. Fellowblogger Likembe already spoke about this album
februari 2009, one year later you can dl it entirely at the GG. Hope U like it.
Fusion of Guitar Band and Dance Band hi-life, with Smart Nkansah’s sister
in law, Becky B doing nice vocals here, this one is for sweet sister Nauma
for leaving such warm comments and that superb link. ***

tracks;

1 Odo, Love
2 Yei nti
3 Me ampa ara ni ?

Funny Moos, I borrowed this same album from a friend last Sunday. Unfortunately, the record was in a plain white sleeve. Below are partial notes from another one of their Lps, “Gye Wani” from 1981.

“Smart Nkansah and Agyaaku are not novices in the Ghananian music arena. As far as highlife is concerned many are those who would testify to the contribution of the two in making that music so hard to dismiss.
Agyaaku’s unique voice in all yamoahs bands’ music established the group as one of the best around for years in the 60’s. Smart Nkansah, the former leader of the Sweet Talks played prominent role in the performance of the group’s unforgettable tunes in the last decade.”

Smart Nkansahs and Agyaaku also formed a bank called the Black Hustlers, which broke away from Sweet Talks. Eugene Cropper was the band’s bass player.

    Thanks,

    Alexsam
