Chief Osadebe – 77, vol. 1,african 1977
This is a special album, Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe & his
Nigeria Soundmakers on african, ‘the’ Congolese label. I have
become a fan of Stephen Osita since I discovered his music
hardly two years ago. It’s the most mellow feelgood sound.
Listen to this 1977 beauty and agree, good stuff.
tracks;
1 Uche chukwu geme
2 Ogo di nkpa
3 People’s club odogwu

Around 1997, Chief Osadebe and his group played in Houston often enough that I began to think of them as a local band. Perhaps the experience of hearing them frequently during a time when I was in love is why for me Ibo highlife powerfully evokes a sense of being home, surrounded by loving friends and family. Thank you Moos for this addition to my contentment.
