Justo Betancourt – Pa Bravo Yo,Fania Records 1972

Justo Betancourt, front

How sweet was the sound of Fania in the early seventies ?
Larry Harlow produced this spicey slice of salsa vinyl and
I think he did very well. Sparkling Fania recording with some
great songs by Justo Betancourt, smooth voice. To break the
routine it don’t hurt to have us some salsa, I should
do it more often, move your feet and wiggle your
hips to the latin beat, ..azucar..
Especially for my old buddie ‘Baldrick’.
Makes me think of café de Kroeg ?

tracks;

1 Pa bravo yo
2 Psicologia
3 Guajira sentimental
4 Una audiencia muerta
5 Caracas tiene su guaguanco
6 Oyeme cantar
7 Lagrimas y tristezas
8 Guaguanco ‘ta moderno
9 Adios felicidad
10 Catano

(uh oh, no comment on that one, guess I should write one if not Moos is going to put only african music, he might be influenced by all those afromusic-maniac,these dutch people are so sensitive, I guess it’s because of the weed they smoke, the only way to get high in such a flat country, so what could I comment today, I got no inspiration…, better not joke on his social life, he’s touchy on that, maybe just an average “thank Moos, what a f**** good album” could do ?, no too common, pfff… blog commenter is not always an easy job)

Hè hè, I’m glad to see ONE person with good taste here, you must be smoking the same sh** I am. But you’re right, it does influence my choice of post if nobody reacts. I know I should not think like that way, it’s true. Fortunately we’ve got you Arnaud to correct me every now and then, thnx pal. greetings from the high low lands ;)

sweet share. thanks. I didn’t know this record, but 1972 was a very good year, indeed, for Fania and this rocks.
