Canadoes Super Stars of Ghana
led by Big Boy Dansoh
Fine Woman, Rogers All Stars 1981
Today’s contribution starts out a bit crackly but the noise
doesn’t bother much. Canadoes appear on RAS
from Nigeria, it is one of those Ghanaian highlife groups
that went there to get their stuff to sound different.
Two things, always nice to have a little puzzling to do,
label says it’s from 1981 and backsleeve says from 1982.
And then, front cover states it should be LIVE, but
it absolutely does not give me that impression,
what do you think ..?
tracks;
1 Enowaa ko hene
– Ayikoo dum
– Konsuo nanaa
2 Fine woman
3 Me nyame bra

Thanks Moos. I've been waiting long time for this LP and today it is there. Wonderful Post. Keep on enjoying us.<br />Best Regards.
..anybody have an idea, live or studio ?
Moos, I just saw this post and I had to quickly listen and give my opinion…I personally think this was the era around which studio-synthesized highlife songs like borga/burger highlife had started coming on to the market and they had to state on the cover that this is not synthesized but rather LIVE instruments recorded in a studio, to appeal to fans of LIVE instrument recordings…other
thanks a lot Kwabena, it confirms more or less what I was thinking already..studio recorded anyway..
OH MOOS!!! I am really astonished, "wow" is all I can say right now!! Thank you so very very much for finding this! You are simply the best, please do continue keeping the Ghana Highlife coming :D Canadoes for life, this is a rare LP recorded probably outside the studio in front of a live audience.<br /><br />Have a wonderful week!!!<br /><br />Ken
Hi, this was recorded in the studio as the credits on the back sleeve states: 'Recorded in Rogers All Stars 24 Tracks Studios.'<br />Kind regards<br />Frank
I dont think this was recorded in front of a live audience as someone said since we dont hear any crowd feedback in any of the tracks as we do on some of Bob marley's true live cuts as an example…the few give and take times in the first medley(enowaa ko hene, ayikoo dum) is just mere band choreography among the band members which is common in a lot of albums that were recorded in studios as
Hi Moos. I have a problem with the file. It seems that the track 1 is corrupted.
