K.K’s Band – Onipa Nye
Essiebons Records 1979
We had three albums of K.K’s No.2 Band but this is the first
one by K.K’s Band without the No.2. King Yeboah with his nice
voice leads the group, further there are Yenuah, Nyamekye, Manu,
Safo doing alto and tenor, and there’s Paa Gyimah on lead guitar.
The album starts a bit dusty and I am very sad about a couple of
pops on track # 3 and 4, shame but I still want to share it with
you all. If I find it again, I’ll replace it some day in the future.
Although a bit damaged, the songs are so nice that
you’ll listen to them anyway. Enjoy another
slice of almost forgotten highlife..

Thanks for this album…it has been on my wanted list after I sampled the “suro onipa” track from highlife turntable some years ago… its a delight to get the chance to listen to the other songs on the album…. I appreciate it
