I know Ghanaian music is very much appreciated by many,
it is difficult however to keep posting quality recordings. In
general it is a troublesome job to find albums that play well.
I have found quite some records over the years that fail to
satisfie afterwards. In lots of cases the centerhole is not in the
middle so the music gets false, I’m sure you know the problem.
Other lp’s are scratched more than expected or it has hidden
pops and such one could not suspect on first sight. One way or
the other, today we’ve got an album that plays fairly well.
after a couple of rejects this morning Atakora Manu’s lp
Mene Awurade Benante stood the test and got through
to you. It is the fifth album by his hand that’s been
posted here, find the other four using our search
bar on the left. The tracks on this record don’t
have any blancs in between so it’s only
divided in a-side and b-side, enjoy
listening nevertheless..

I don’t know how you do it but THANKS! You come out with some of the stuff I have never heard of.
I empathize with your problems dealing with badly produced recordings, Moos. Back in the day I used to transfer rare classical 78s and LPs. Having to deal with off-center copies, splicing endlessly to get out the result of pitted surfaces, and weight the tone arm carefully to move past deep scratches were some of the hassles one regularly faced. It seems that some companies either didn’t care about their product, or couldn’t afford to care. In any case, it’s great to have these. Thank you.
Hallo moos, dank je voor de geweldige muziek. In het nederlands is dit gemakkelijker. off-centre platen kun je altijd correct verhelpe.
goed, nu nog de praktijk. haal de centre-pole uit de platenspeler en leg de plaat zodanig dat de naald recht blijft. werkt 100%

Ik gebruik Technics SL 1200 draaitafels, daar kan dat niet mee helaas..
Dan zijn er nog steeds meerdere mogelijkheden, dikke mat , een tweede draaitafel, en zelfs het gaatje in het vinyl vergroten.
dat zijn 1-2-3 de dingen waar je zelf misschien ook al aan dacht, de eerste lijkt mij de beste

wow… I havent seen this one anywhere before… its been a while since we had a Ghana album here but the wait is always worth it… and I can understand the trouble you go through to get us these goodies… just know that your efforts are very much appreciated

thanks Alex… I didnt see it about a year ago when I checked for more on this artiste after Moos gave us an album from him … this must have been a recent addition… learning is another great reason to be here
Unfortunately, the copies listed on Discogs are in private collections.
The first track on this album has long been a favorite of mine. My copy is beat up so hoping your rip suffices a long overdo upgrade :)

Oh wow, I just listened and it ends up that the track listing on this LP is completely different than the one on mine! Same sleeve, different set of songs. This has happened to me in the past with some of these Ghanaian presses. Far out.
