Slim Young – Bisa
Coconut 1987
One of our visitors was wondering why we didn’t have
Ghanaian highlife so long. Well Edwin, it is simply because
the main part of my records from Ghana has already been
posted. There are some left however. Today’s post concerns
an album from 1987 by Slim Young. It is his latest record which
was very popular in West Africa. Slim Young died in november
2001. See the back sleeve in the file for line-up ..
Slim Young
overleed in november, 2001. Kijk voor de bezetting,
in de file, op de achterkant van de plaat ..

Thanks Moos. Sound more synthetic, more eighties to my ears. Not my cup of tea as we say in France. Nevermind Moose, nice to hear more Ghanian highlife.
Thanks for posting this Ghanaen Highlife, it s so far my favorite one! In Nijah i prefere Juju, Afrobeat and Fuji music and ……….and lastly Highife! Anyway thank you for bringing us such great groove around the world
Thanks for this Gem Moos. The year of his death was 2001 not 2016. I believe that was a typo on our end :)
Oops, yes you are right, I better change that ..
Many blessings, I been looking for this album for years. The great Slim Young had wonderful beautiful Ghanaian Highlife music in the 1980s. This one is his most popular best one. Great post today, please if you can find more beautiful Highlife music albums from Slim Young, I will be truly grateful.
Thanks for bringing back Ghana highlife. Cheers!
Odo Yede is one of my all time favorite highlife songs. I had a video of it on YouTube (plus eoe other of my LP rips), but my channel was taken down without warning last week.
Thanks Mood,
Alexsam
