From 1982 we’ve got this slice of Senegalese mbalax with
on each side a group. Side one is with Youssou N’Dour et le
Super Etoile de Dakar, side two with Etoile 2000 de Dakar.
To my humble opinion from a period in which Youssou was
at his very best. Awesome mbalax you don’t want to miss.
Etoile 2000 was a group with short existence, read more
willen missen. Etoile 2000 was een groep die een kort
bestaan kende, lees meer

Thanks a lot Moos. … Let me be a pain in the ass again, … you mention your rips are in 320 kbps, but whenever I check it is 319 kbps. What happened to the missing 1 kbps??? All the best, Pete
You are no pain in the ass Pete.
This 319 or 320 matter, I have no idea how
it works. I use the Winamp-pro ripping device,
I tell it to rip in 320 and it comes out in 319.
You tell me .. Anyway, do you hear a difference?
I only hear that my rips sound super good so ..
.. as we say in Dutch, ‘lekker belangrijk’ ..
Just what a flood weary B.C. boy needs – some sizzling hot Senegalese sounds. We’re getting drenched again by a “parade of storms”, or a series of “atmospheric rivers”. As the world entertains the latest virulent varient we lucky global groovers can be comforted by some marvelous mbalax. Thanks a bunch and many blessings.
Don’t know if I mentioned it before, but the second wife of an English friend of mine was…greatly stimulated by music while making love. She enjoyed Glazunov, Liadov(!), Tchaikovsky–and mbalax. When he told me that last, I laughed out loud, because I can really get that, what with its great, galloping beat. Youssou N’Dour was a favorite of hers.
Yep, you mentioned it before ..
