Decca West Africa 1976

First of all, thank you Jillem for the shout out at Holland
Tunnel Dive. It is a bit too much credit. The video
is fun though, I remember the Police came and ended
the party, the bar owner forgot to ask for permission.
Imagine a world without HTD,
long live Jillem ..

I first thought the HTD post was an obituary, most distressing.
Thanks for this share, very sweet indeed.

Whilst my comrades were all excited about the talking heads 77, television and tons of other similar releases not many of my age bracket had any idea of festac. You snooze you loose. Then again I had no idea that seigneur rochereau was performing at expo 67 (although the steel bands made a lasting impression); but at 8 years old I had a valid excuse I suppose. It must have been a heady time in Nigeria specifically and la belle epoch generally was certainly very fruitful was it not! Out of curiosity I wonder how much of the festac music was recorded and has been released? To paraphrase another band…wish I was there.

Hi, there3, now that zippyshare is going, it appears holland tunnel dive is, too. I’m downloading like crazy, but won’t get it all by the end of the month. Is it moving? Is there another way to get it all besides post-by-post? Thanks!
