Akpola Record Stores AGB 115

Good morning, this week we find another record with King Robert
Ebizimor and his Ijaw Brothers Band of Nigeria. We had just one
other album with King Robert and that was with his Izon Brothers
Band. Although it was downloaded over 200 times it didn’t get
any feedback. Let’s go with this one ..

I would like to ask you a question, can you tell me what your
favourite music is ? I would really like to know, so please tell ..

Goeiemorgen, deze week hebben we nog een plaatje met King
Robert Ebizimor and his Ijaw brothers Band of Nigeria. We hadden
slechts één andere met King Robert en die was met zijn Izon Brothers
Band. Alhoewel meer dan 200 maal gedownload kreeghij geen feed-

Thanks Moos, beautiful music for a sunday just after our election in Australia with a good result!

I think for me my favourite music is the sweet sounds of Igbo Highlife, anything with a great feel and laid back beats.

You have posted so much great albums here. Orchestre Kara, Lipua Lipua, Les Kamales Le Grand Kalle, Julia by Le Grand Lolitta, Eyi Yato by Ebenezer Obey, Mbaraka Mwinsheshe, Haruna Ishola, Celestin Ukwu,
I don’t like Brasilian music. But please keep them coming, they are integral to your blog.

First, I’d like to thank you for all your work over the years on GG, you are awesome!

I love it when you post Ghanaian highlife, juju, etsakor, zilizopendwa, benga, any of the palm wine style is great!

Hi Moos, thanks for sharing! I love all the African and Brazilian music you share on the blog, but I especially like Congolese cavacha which has a bit extra going on melodically (Nguashi Nimbi – Citoyen, Orchestra Malekesa – Musique du Zaire, Peterson T. Mutebi – Abawala Bimuli Vol.2) and from Zimbabwe the Robson Banda – Ngoma Ngairire album is very special to me (besides obviously loving Thomas Mapfumo). Thanks for all the great music!

My favorite music is probably psychedelic funk. So I like Hendrix and Funkadelic. I really love Orchestre Poly Rhythmo and their “voodoo funk” and Ebenezer Obey, and Idjah Hadijah with her jaipongan music.

Congolese rumba & soukous (before the drum machines & synths took over), West African juju and afrobeat/funk, Cuban son. As always, thanks for your great shares!
