Hello groovers, there’s something I wish to tell you for
some time now and today seems a fine day to do so.
I am a non-religious person. I know this is a strange
phenomena for some people but in our country I think
more than half of the population is. Money and religion
are the two biggest causes of war in the world and for
one, that’s a huge reason to be like I am, without religion.
In the music that I post, maybe more often than I realize,
religious utterances are made. I wish to keep aloof from
this. It’s the music that I love to hear, often I don’t even
understand the words but that’s okay with me. The
‘groove’ is the most important thing and also the
reason for posting an album. If you think I am a bad
person, that’s also fine with me, I know I’m not and stick
to my feeling about this. So if Chief Commander Ebenezer
Obey speaks of religious things, those are his words,
not mine. Okay, I’m glad I made this clear, I am not
open for discussion but just wanted to make this
statement. Still, hope U like and enjoy.
Peace, love, happiness and health to all !tracks;

Sometimes it can be very annoying, it depends of your
mood I think, but sometimes also, it can be enjoyable.
I’m talking about crackely old LP’s, and this is one of
them. Somehow I kinda liked it when listening to this
1977 Nigerian album. It’s sleeve has hardly survived
the 34 years and the vinyl is in comparable state.
Just imagine sitting and listening by the fireside,
close y’r eyes and before you know it you only
hear the sweet rhythms, give it a try.tracks;

b-side separates the tracks like they used to. Listen.tracks;

From Bahia, we jump back across the ocean to West Africa
where originally most of Bahia’s inhabitant’s ancesters came from.
It has indeed been some time since we had us some of this
sweet Nigerian sound. Miliki Sound is what Chief Ebenezer
called it in 1973. Nowadays it goes for juju. One way or the
other, mellow but still funky, enjoy Chief Ebenezer Obey &
his International Brothers.tracks;

In 1984 Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe was rewarded for the
outstanding achievement with the sales of over 750.000 albums
on Polydor label and in appreciation of his immense contribution
to the progress of Polygram Records Ltd. in Nigeria.
He was the first Nigerian artist to receive at a single time 3 awards,
2 gold discs and one platinum. It was for ‘Agbalu Aka no ani’ and
‘Onu Kwulunjo Okwue Mma’. What they did not know yet then,
is that ‘Osondi Owendi’ would become the most sold out highlife
album ever. At least, that’s what the rumour says. One way or
the other, it sure is a tremendous album, listen and judge yourself.tracks;

Mike Ejeagha’s highlife is just what we need on a quiet
sunday afternoon. The rhythm is so mellow, it almost brings
one in a kind of trance, going on and on, hypnotising 1983
