Kintweni Sukisa, front, cd size

Good evening friends of the Global Groove. Did you notice ?
Our counter went over one million visitors today. Somewhere
in the beginning I once lost a counter and started over, so
it is not entirely from scratch but now it’s official. Stats say we
have over 10.000 visitors every week and a minor growth is still
visible. Thank you all for being here.
It is a very good day for an other reason aswell.
Today’s record fair in Utrecht brought us a big new pile
of old and scratchy African vinyl. Though some remain in
mint condition also. It contains material from several country’s
so plenty variety ahead. To start with an album by Kintweni Sukisa.
searching the web I find it must be Congolese but it has some
east African flavour over it. I find it very pleasant, the vocal harmonies
and stacato guitar rifs taste a little benga I think. Well, happy
home coming, stay tuned and consume today’s
catch in peace, cheers.

tracks;

1 Nsongo Nena
2 Monzuma
3 Nzila nzenga
4 Mbenza
5 Mabanza
6 Kuviguila

    Always so many nice surprises!

Thank you moos! Can’t wait to hear this one and much looking forward to what other pearls were in those Utrecht findings! I guess we shall soon hear! I’d love to see more Veve, Verckys productions, etc. actually moos just keep posting what you are posting it is already greater than great! But I also have one really longtime unfulfilled request and I don’t know if those LP’s were properly circulated in Europe to find their way to a record fair, but all these years I have tried to get hold of decent copies of “Orchestre Rumba Ray de Maray Maray”, “Isifi Lokole / Yoka Lokole” and these Crown, P-Vine, Disco Stock records produced in Japan as it were. Well, all I have seen so far are some pictures of sleeves and covers and one or three tracks were played in radioshows I am always too late for. Unfortunately I am not much of a radio listener! So moos, if you have some, per chance, or anyone else for that matter, (David, Vincent…!?) or who ever reads this comment, could please direct me to such a source. No, I am not going to shell out any fantasy prizes on Japanese e-bay. Well that said I state once again that I am quite happy with what is being offered here already anyhow ;-)

I think I need to move to Utrecht!
We can never find these rare gems here in USA.
I love to listen to them and to read the sleeve notes.
