Lisandro Meza y su Conjunto Sabanero –
Alejo y Yo, Sonolux 1986

Lisandro Meza, front

Two Great artists on one lp, Lisandro Meza and Alejandro
Duran appear together on this slice of tropical candy.
Backsleeve info is quite poor so I am just guessing both
musicians play with Lisandro’s Conjunto Sabanero. Track
one is written by Lisandro, track two by Alejo, track 3 by
Lisandro and so on. I’m not sure but it seems they perform
together, taking turns in singing as well. One way or the other,
the album contains a bunch of happy songs you’re going to
enjoy listening to, cumbias, porros
y vallenatos, disfruta y goza..
aprecio si deja unas
palabras.

tracks;

1 Playa blanca
2 Fiesta en mi pueblo
3 Muchachita
4 El guayacan
5 Dos amigos
6 Rey sin corona
7 Paco chifle
8 Maria almanza
9 El chinchorrito
10 Tiro fijo

Wonderful – more Colombian premier cru. The cover appears to show Lisandro holding a tuba, in which case is it him playing the instrument on the disc?

Hi Moos, I can’t tell you how excited I was to return to your site. I have visited before, when my interest was more on salsa music, but I have lately become interested especially in Colombian music, including cumbia, champeta, terapia, Pacho Galan, Lucho Bermudez, Sexteto Tabala, and Emilia Herrera (La Niña Emilia). I’m eager to read your comments and listen to all this fabulous music you’ve put up for us. Also, it’s so good of you to make it available without having the constant pop ups and redirections to mal-sites. Thank you, thank you!

Can you post a good copy of 10-Pajaro Carpintero from Emilia Herrera’s Congo E album? The only version I have been able to find is damaged (38K, duration of 1 second).
