Good morning, today we’ve got us another album with bassplayer
and orchestral leader Pedro Laza. Pedro stood out for his great
porro and fandango recordings, he made a whole lot. Take a look
at his phonography at Discogs. We had quite some of his work on
earlier occasions. This record from 1968, 57 years old, sounds a little
dusty but hey, what do you expect ? Tropical de Colombia on Discos
Fuentes, classic sleeve with pretty lady and all ..

Hey goeiemorgen, vandaaag weer eens zo’n album uit Colombia
met bassist en orkestleider Pedro Laza. Pedro was fameus om zijn
vertolking van porro’s en fandango’s, hij nam er tallozen op. Kijk
maar eens in zijn discografie op Discogs. We hadden al het een en
ander met hem. Deze plaat uit 1968 heeft wel wat ruis op de lijn,
maar wat verwacht je dan ook na 57 jaar ? Tropical de Colombia
op Discos Fuentes, compleet met de klassieke mooie meid
op de voorkant van de hoes ..

Luis Eduardo Bermúdez Acosta, better known as Lucho Bermúdez,
was a Colombian composer, musician and performer. he was one
of the most important orchestral leaders, composers in Colombian
music history. Back in the days when Jillem of Holland Tunnel Dive
posted this album I promised to post some of his older
work some day. Well here it finally is, hope you like it, it contains some
background noise, but what do you expect after 61 years. The town you see
is Carmen de Bolívar where he grew up. I have another 16 of his records
on the shelf, feel free to ask any other, I’ll see if I have it.

Het is een mooi verhaal. dat van de carrière van Lucho Bermúdez.
Ik heb in de tijd toen Jillem op Holland Tunnel Dive een album van
hem plaatste (zie link in Engels bericht) beloofd later meer van zijn
oude werk te plaatsen. Vandaag is het dan eindelijk zover.
Vandaag dus twee van zijn platen, mooi spul van 61 jaar geleden.
De plaat heeft wat kraakjes, maar wat verwacht je na 61 jaar.
Stad op de foto is Carmen de Bolívar waar Lucho opgroeide.
Ik heb nog 16 van zijn platen op de plank, verzoek dus gerust ..

Listening to music while driving is one of the best ways.
You are alone in your car, a good sound surrounds you.
This way every note comes in as pure as possible. This
past week I was blown away by one of Landero’s songs
again. When it comes to vallenato he was one of the
greatest in the field. I went thru the records and found
that I haven’t posted this 1969 career album yet. It
sounds fairly well considering its age. Listen to
Andrés Landero and Mujer Querida ..

Één van de fijnste manieren om naar muziek te luisteren
is mijns inziens tijdens het autorijden. Alleen in je wagen,
een goede sound rondom. Zo komt iedere noot binnen.
De afgelopen week werd ik weer eens overdonderd door
een song van Andrés Landero op deze manier. Als we het
over vallenato hebben was hij wel één van de grootste
ooit. Toen ik door z’n platen bladerde kwam ik dit nog niet
geposte album tegen. Het klinkt aardig goed gezien z’n

Hello good morning, due to a switch of internet provider
something went wrong and left me without a proper
connection for a week. No TV, no internet, we’re not
used to be without anymore. No posts, no downloads
etcetera. walking the dog and playing music a lot were
perfect occupations though. Fortunately everything is
working again so let’s see .. It’s been a while since we
had some vallenato so today let’s do another Colombian
treasure with Julio de la Ossa. This is an oldie from 1967.
Twelve songs from the man who became Rey Vallenato
on the 8th edition of the famous festival in 1975.

Hallo goeiemorgen, wegens verandering van internet
provider ging er iets mis en zat ik een week zonder
connectie. Geen TV, geen internet, dat zijn we al lang

Muziek luisteren en lange wandelingen met de hond
waren perfecte bezigheden ondertussen. Gelukkig

Het was alweer een half jaar geleden dat we vallenato
hadden dus vandaag weer eens een plaat met Colombia’s
Julio de la Ossa. Dit is een oudje uit 1967. Twaalf nummers
van de man die Rey Vallenato werd op de 8ste editie van

Dear groovers, on ‘Merengue’, a sub-label of Discos
Fuentes we find this old record with both José Maria
Peñaranda and Calixto Ochoa y sus Conjuntos. The
first is well known for his parrandas with naughty
lyrics, but he also did vallenatos and other genres.
On this 1963, according to Discogs his first album,
we find twelve songs in various styles. A rare
slice on the old yellow Fuentes label ..

Fuentes vinden we vandaag deze oude plaat met zowel
José Maria Peñaranda als Calixto Ochoa en hun beider
Conjuntos. De eerste is bekend om zijn parranda’s met
ondeugende teksten, maar hij deed ook vallenato en
andere stijlen. Op dit album uit 1963, volgens Discogs
zijn eerste, vinden we twaalf nummers in verschillende
smaken. Een zeldzame schijf op het oude
gele Fuentes label ..

Good morning, how about some cumbia today ? Discogs
only tells us it is from the US, but I assume Super Combo
is from Colombia. If anyone knows differently, please
enlighten us. Overall we can’t find a lot of information
about this album. No worries though, listening to it
makes up for that completely. Enjoy ..

weet ons slechts te vertellen dat hij uitkwam in de US. Ik
veronderstel echter dat Super Combo een Colombiaanse
groep is. Als iemand anders weet, graag feedback. Er is
weining over de plaat te vinden, jammer maar helaas.

It has been quite a while since we had us an album with
strictly cumbia. This record from 1970 stood waiting to get
posted for a long time. High time to post some more stuff
from Colombia anyway. So for today this elpee with

Isaac Carillo

Side one is just with Nicolás ‘Colacho’ Mendoza and his
Conjunto Vallenato on this album with Isaac Carillo. We
found Isaac Carillo in July 2019 on the album with Los
Playoneros del Cesar from 1969. He was one of the
members of the early formation. Isaac appears here on
the b-side of this record, he also performs with Colacho
Mendoza and his Conjunto Vallenato. Vallenato from
around 1970 I assume, no year of release was found.

Voor de liefhebbers van vallenato hebben we vandaag deze
plaat met twee groten uit het veld. Kant één is alleen met Nicolás
‘Colacho’ Mendoza en zijn Conjunto Vallenato. Op kant twee
vinden we Isaac Carillo die ook met Colacho en zijn band optreedt.
We vonden Isaac Carillo al op een plaat met Los Playoneros del
Cesar in juli 2019. Hij was een van de oude bandleden van die
groep. Dit is vallenato van rond 1970 veronderstel ik,
een jaar van uitgifte is niet bekend. Luister zelf ..
