The sound we present today is Colombian but quite different from
most we have had so far. I’m not sure if it is called gaita. In any case
it is no regular cumbia eventhough the group’s name is ‘su Cumbia’.
On the web I saw they called it Cumbia Moderna. It is comparable
with the sound of ‘Cumbia Siglo XX’ which we had in january 2017.
It is very popular with deejays of world music nowadays.

De sound die we vandaag aan u voordragen is Colombiaans maar
tamelijk anders dan de meeste tot nu toe. Ik weet niet zeker of dit
nu gaita wordt genoemd. In ieder geval is het geen reguliere cumbia
zoals de naam van de band doet vermoeden. Ik zag online dat het
Cumbia Moderna werd genoemd. Het is enigszins te vergelijken
met het geluid van ‘Cumbia Siglo XX’ welke we in januari 2017
hadden. Tamelijk populair bij hedendaagse wereld muziek dj’s.

great musician and wrote a bunch of hits. This is a collection
of his ‘grandes exitos’. It comes from the CD release by Discos
Fuentes in 1997, already twenty years ago. Enjoy listening..

Helaas nooit op LP gevonden, dus dan doen we het maar zo.
Een collectie van zijn grootste hits, heerlijk luister spul. Al weer

namen toegekend aan deze sound. Keiharde cumbia met bruut
slagwerk en funky gitaartjes maar ook dikke vokalen. Kant twee
heeft twee tracks die wat tribal aandoen maar dit is heet. Ga
snel luisteren, volume hoog, meubels aan de kant en laat je
maar gaan. Eenmaal op de danstoer is er geen stoppen
meer aan dus wees voorzichtig. Check nummer acht,
Colombiaans dansgeweld..

but also great vocals. Side two contains two tracks in a more tribal
outfit but this is hot. Listen quickly, volumes up, Kick aside all
