Early eighties the reggae/dub poetry movement took place.
We saw Poet and the Roots, which was Linton Kwesi Johnson,
Michael Smith, Benjamin Zephaniah, Oku Onoura and also
Mutabaruka. This is his 1983 album we played a lot almost
40 years ago, time flies. The lyrics are still relevant today.
Protest songs about war, rape, discrimination and a rotten
system can easily be listened to in the present time.
we reggae/dub poëzie noemen. Jongens als Poet and the Roots,
(Linton Kwesi Johnson) Michael Smith, Benjamin Zephaniah,
Wikipedia

Hello, good morning, yesterday I found a message on Holland
Tunnel Dive telling us his Zippyshare page was going down in a
month time. Jillem said, download what you want before you’re
too late. Today however, the message is gone and replaced by
‘Miracle at HTD !‘. I’m not quite sure what this means. Jillem,
can you please give us the latest news on the issue ?
We happy followers of HTD like to know
vervangen door ‘Miracle at HTD !‘. Ik weet niet zeker wat dit in-
houdt.
Je volgers horen graag iets van je !What do we have for you today ? An album of Yoruba Poetry
or ‘Ewi’ with the great Lanrewaju Adepoju and his National
Akewi Theatre. “Mister Adepoju blends old Ewi with the modern
to satisfy the yearnings of Ewi fans. No doubt, he knows the his-
tory of Yorubas in depth and from this draws his materials which
by inspiration he transcibes into thought-provoking Ewi.”

An excellent idea Mouhamadou, Linton Kwesi Johnson
scored big time at the end of the seventies. After the great
‘Dread Beat an’ Blood’ under the name Poet and the Roots,
he continued under his own name. This was the follower up
which we played thousands of times in those years. Very
strong lyrics and Linton’s deep voice is still indestructible.
It was about time for me to post the other albums ..As a bonus I have added his 1980, 12″ single ‘Di Black
geweldige ‘Dread Beat an’ Blood’ als Poet and the Roots
Booshwah’ toegevoegd ..Dread Beat an’ Blood 1978

Around 1980 there was a movement going on called ‘Dub Poetry’.
There were types with colourful names like, ‘Oku Onoura’, ‘Benjamin
Zepheniah’ and ‘Muta Baruka’. One of the founders of this movement
was without any doubt, ‘Linton Kwesi Johnson’, on this here record
he was still performing under the name ‘Poet and the Roots’. ‘Dread
Beat an’ Blood’, is a poetic collection of 8 protestsongs.
An LP I played thousands of times !tracks;
1 Dread beat an’ blood
2 Five nights of bleeding
3 Doun di road
4 Song of blood
5 It dread inna Inglan
6 Come wi goh dung deh
7 Man free
