Goedemorgen groevers, wat kookt er vandaag ? Ik vond deze
plaat in de kast. Ergens in de afgelopen jaren gevonden op een
beurs of zo, ik weet het eerlijk gezegd niet meer. Hoe dan ook,
altijd leuk om iets in de eigen collectie te vinden wat je nog niet
kent. Super Comirail met Koussouloumouka P. Dechott, Nsikou-
baka G. Berlino, Bibila Justin Ricky, Kiabiya Rubin Bru-Mutchero,
Mbayani Muzita Josephate, Likia Joseph Liberos en Kambi Michel.
Koutsaba Philippe, Ngana Moreno, Mboutou B. Mick en Koue-
diatouka Atroce. Geen van deze namen ooit eerder gehoord,
en hun muziek ook niet, luister ..

Good morning groovers, what’s cooking today ? I found this here
record in the Congo section of my collection. Bought it at some
point during the past few years, at a record fair or crate digging
elsewhere. To be honest I don’t remember exactly. One way or
the other, always nice to discover something new. Super Comirail

Bibila Justin Ricky, Kiabiya Rubin Bru-Mutchero, Mbayani Muzita

An extremely rare album from Uganda today, it is by Peterson
T. Mutebi with the Tames – Abawala Bimuli vol. 2. The elpee has
no sleeve and we have no information. From the label we know
that the songs are written by Peterson T. Mutebi, W. Mukasa,
Willy Mubiru, Ronie O. Musisi, Peter Kabaale Super and Ronald
Ndema Ringo. That’s as far as it goes..enjoy listening.

Een extreem zeldzame plaat uit Uganda vandaag. Het is Peterson T.
Mutebi met de Tames – Abawala Bimuli vol. 2. Het album heeft
geen hoes en dus hebben we ook geen informatie. Op het web is
ook niet veel te vinden. Hier is een stuk waar hij in voor komt.

Van het label weten we dat de nummers zijn geschreven door
Peterson T. Mutebi, W. Mukasa, Willy Mubiru, Ronie O. Musisi,

De cavacha kabbelt lekker voort, met de
zwoele gitaar van Billy Mutebi..

Het is altijd prachtig als je op Youtube de video vindt die bij
het plaatje hoort. Vandaag hebben we zo’n mazzeltje met
Petite Zizina van Soki Vangu en orchestre Bella Bella. Erg
fijne plaat en zeer vermakelijk filmpje. Die vier dansers zijn
gewoon miraculeus. De elpee vonden we wederom via vriend
Aidan die dit zeldzame pareltje meebracht uit Congo.

It is always a joy when we find the video on Youtube which
belongs to the album. Today we have such luck with this lp
by Soki Vangu and Orchestre Bella Bella with the song Petite
Zizina. Very enjoyable record and dito video. The four dancers
are just miraculous. We found the record through our friend
Aidan who brought it back from Congo.

This one is also wonderful and gives more than two hours
watching pleasure, rare and great footage..
..really funny and over the top dressed up dancers
on 28.16 min. Soki Vangu also loves it..
..on 32.08 min. we see Soki Vangu in a video where he
clearly didn’t rehearse upfront, he even forgets to playback..

It is hard to find information about Orchestre Malekesa du Zaïre.
One of those Congolese bands operating from Kenya, led by Frantal
Tabu. One way or the other, this is a very enjoyable record.
( track #2 got stuck right at the beginning so I fade started it
just behind it, we miss the first minute and
another bad moment at 5.40..shame..)

Het is tamelijk lastig enige informatie te vinden over Orchestre
Malekesa du Zaïre. Het is een van die Congolese bands die van uit
Kenya opereerde in de jaren zeventig. Hoe dan ook, dit is een
aangenaam plaatje, luister zelf..
( nummer twee bleef direct aan het begin al hangen dus ik heb
een fade start gemaakt voorbij dit punt. We missen een
minuutje, en een slecht moment rond 5.40..jammer..)

Een klein krasje aan het begin maar wat een lekker plaatje dit.
op Eddy’Son Consortium Mondial komt deze van twee Zaïko
Langa Langa jongens, Teddy Sukami en Benj. Niet te versmaden
Congolese sound. Dat hadden we net nodig..

Just what we needed today, a small scratch at the beginning
but what a nice record. Two Zaïko Langa Langa guys, Teddy
Sukami and Benj. On Eddy’Son Consortium Mondial, what
can I say..better get it and spread it straight away..

it took a while but I think we finally have Zaïre Promotion vol. 1 today.
Kiland and Orchestre Mabatalai bring us this delightful album, I really
enjoy listening and hope you will as well, get it and spread it..
By the way, track two on both sides is with Orchestre Mokito.

We hadden reeds drie platen van deze man, Kiland en zijn Orchestre
Mabatalai twee maal, en met Orchestre Mokito één maal. Het heeft
even geduurd om dit eerste volume te vinden maar op de laatste
beurs in Utrecht was het dan toch eindelijk zover. Altijd een heerlijk
moment om tegen zo’n juweeltje aan te lopen, luister maar snel..
Het tweede nummer op beide zijden is overigens met Orch. Mokito.

Kiland is terug, dit keer niet met Orchestre Mabatalaï maar met
Orchestre Mokito. Hij heeft wel de titel Zaïre Promotion 2000,
net als de anderen, dit is volume 4. Ik ben een liefhebber van
zijn gitaarspel, de cavacha tokkelt heerlijk door zoals we dat
het liefst horen. Pak hem en deel hem als gebruikelijk..

Kiland is back, this time not with Orchestre Mabatalaï but with
Orchestre Mokito. The album does have the title Zaïre Promotion
2000 just like the others though. This is volume 4. I’m a sucker for
his guitar play, the cavacha is pluckin’ sweet and rattles along nicely,
just the way we like. Get it and spread it as usual..

Franco presenteert Lita Bembo Nkolo Kwanga. Lita Bembo
is bij de meeste bekend van zijn Orchestre Stukas maar deze
plaat verschijnt onder zijn eigen naam. De stevige cavacha
van ‘showman’ Lita Bembo spreekt enorm aan door de
uitgepakte sebene en Lita’s krachtige manier van zingen.
Los van de kraakjes, een absolute aanrader..

Franco présente Lita Bembo Nkolo Kwanga. Lita Bembo is
known to most of us for his orchestre Stukas, however the
album we have today goes under his own name. The firm
cavacha of ‘showman’ Lita Bembo stands out for its extended
sebene and Lita’s powerful way of singing. Part from the crackle
an absolute recommender..

Dit is de zesde plaat die we van deze band plaatsen. Hij stamt
uit 1978 en klinkt typisch oost Afrikaans. De stijl hangt een
beetje tussen cavacha en benga zoals je van een groep uit
deze contrijen zou mogen verwachten. Congolese invloeden
maar toch echt Kenyaans. Een heerlijk album, niet te missen..

This is the sixth record we post by this band. It is from the year
1978 and sounds typical east African. Its style covers both benga
and cavacha, just the way we’re supposed to expect from a group
from these parts. Congolese influences but still really Kenyan.
A very nice record, not to be missed..
