Calling Rochereau “Congo’s greatest singer of all time” seems a bit too much. What about Vicky, Kabasele, Kwamy, Mangwana….?
But the album is very nice, yes.

I don’t think you push it too far Moos. This is, I think, one of Tabu Ley’s finest albums. Good choice. This is one of the first Congolese albums I ever bought. It was a brand new album back then in the early 70s and it still has a hold on me.

Fabulous blog, Moos. Thanks for sharing your collection; particularly grateful to hear the Jhimmy upload elsewhere.

But on this entry here I hope you won’t mind if I point out that I think you might have uploaded side B of the Tabu Ley LP before side A; therefore in the track listing tracks 1-4 are in fact 5-8 and 5-8 are in fact 1-4. The whistled Aon-Aon is definitely track 3 (and not 7 as you list it).

But this is a small quibble in your truly valuable archive.
