Orchestre Régional de Mopti – Boro, Musicaphon 1970

Orchestre Régional de Mopti, front

Global Groovers, a few weeks ago I’ve been posting 4 albums
of the series; ‘Les Meilleurs Souvenirs de la 1ére Biennale
Artistique et Culturelle de la Jeunesse, 1970’ from Mali.
There was still one missing piece in the puzzle. Today one of
our dear visitors donated it, for us to be complete. Very nice
gesture indeed, thank you so much on behalf of all GGers.
Let’s take the opportunity, and listen.

tracks;

1 Boro
2 Récital
3 Manden po
4 An jigi ye mali ye
5 Ferro
6 Sènè
7 Taara

Yes!!! BTW, you’re probably aware of this, but if you happened to have the LP “Orchestre Kanaga de Mopti” (KO 77.04.15, 1977) & decide to post it, you’re gonna have a whole bunch of African music lovers jumping with joy (and owing you a big one) all over the globe ;).
As usual, thanks for the great music.

there is also a record by Rail Band in this series. I sadly don’t have it. Have all the others for years though. A great series, with “traditional” music volumes as well.

Just gobbled up this entire series and feeling very satisfied (if a little greedy) – what a feast! Many, many thanks. This band’s “Taara” takes the breath away.
