The Super Railband of the Buffethôtel
de la Gare de Bamako, Globestyle 1985

A late night post today, I had this LP piled up for some time.
I think this is the longest name for a band I have ever heard.
Great release of Globestyle, recorded in 1982, the singers we
hear are Sekou Kante and Lanfia Diabate.
This is the legendary band that started both careers of
Mory Kante and Salif Keita.

tracks;

1 Foliba
2 Bedianamogo
3 Tallassa
4 Konowale
5 Maliyo

    Wonderful blog and beautiful album indeed, Moos, but I’d insist on andy healey’s comment: the album is still available on CD on at least one major on-line store, even if buy.com claims that “This item is currently unavailable from the Manufacturer.” It would just suck if your blog ran into any kind of trouble beacause of this particular post.
    I guess it would be a diferent story if you happenned to have the 2 original albums where these tracks apparently first appeared: Super Rail Band Buffet Hôtel de la Gare de Bamako -Volume 1. Rail Culture Authentique Mali. RCAM 3301 and Super Rail Band Buffet Hôtel de la Gare de Bamako – Volume 2. Rail Culture Authentique Mali. RCAM 3302, both from 1983 (http://www.radioafrica.com.au/Discographies/Rail.html).
    Thanks once again for the excellent quality of the music posted here.
