Lutumba Simaro – Le Poète
Productions Souk vol. 2

He was one of Franco’s best composers at the OK Jazz.
Somehow his music can’t miss. I like about
everything the man did. This album is called ‘Le Poète’,
after his nickname. Topnotch musician, a hero.

tracks;

1 Na boyi ibala
2 Consolation
3 O ndimi ngai te
4 Zulu
5 Ma Adele
6 Patience

    I have asked Simaro about this album, and he denies it was made by him and/or musicians of the (TP) OK Jazz. If you listen to the music you will have to agree that it is very likely Simaro is telling the truth.

    That’s a very good question. And if I had known the answer I would have posted the album myself.
    But so far no Congolese musician I have asked has recognised any of the artists performing.
    So this remains one of the many mysteries of Congolese music….

    strange thing, that a musician of such quality rather releases under other man’s name then his own.
    I guess we’ll have to keep guessing why..a money matter maybe
