Goodmorning, today I received a load of nasty mails again,
some people on the web think blogging is some kind of competition.
I just want to say, I will not participate in throwing dirt at
each other. Only positivity on this page please. It is only meant to
serve the world and make people happy.
And now about this little album, it’s small but very nice.
Donga was an important figure in Brazillian music. His songs are
played by many even today. This LP contains the great ‘Pelo
telefone’, a song I first knew by the also great Martinho da Vila.

i’ll second the opinion of anonymous above – this site has totally changed the type of music I listen to and I can’t tell enough people about it. Keep up the great work – and if you have more Haitian compas, please put it up! so fantastic!

There seems to be a lot of not-very-nice things going around the music blog world. Blogger have sent sent threatening emails and a certain German man as well.
About two months ago I too began to start my music blog trip with GG as well.

Pay no attention to the haters. Your blog is a treasure trove of incredible music. Were it not for your work and taste, I would not be so addicted to 80s Congolese music!

Take the nastiness as a sign that you are reaching a large audience (there’s always a few in any crowd, the bigger the crowd, the more jerks).

There are some very sad people out there who when they see other people having fun get jealous & try to ruin it. What they most want is to get you irritated so ignore them & carry on turning us onto this very fine music.

I can’t thank you enough for all the amazing, life-affirming music you have brought into my life. My iPod has a special Global Groove playlist and I listen to that stuff far more than any other.
