Franco et le T.P. OK Jazz a Paris – On Entre O.K. On Sort K.O.V.I.S.A. 1980, volume 1

Last night, I had a meeting with my Congolese friends Serge and Joe
in Amsterdam. We had a couple of beers and went watching Youtube
video’s and listening to music by, among others, Djo Nolo, Madilu
System and Lita Bembo & Stuka Boys. I had a good time and when I
came home, I dived into my little phonotheque to look if I have any
of that stuff for you. I found this Franco album, a Belgium release,
on which we see a picture of a Djo performing. I am not sure but
is it Djo Nolo who participates on this LP? Other great artists on
the album are Ntesa Dalienst, Ndombe Opetum and Lutumba Simaro.
Please leave a comment if you can enlighten us on the subject.

We are also preparing for an African dance evening on friday,
the 27th of august in a bar in Hilversum, my hometown.
It will take place during ‘Hilversum on Air’, a weekend with
several live acts and other music related events. Stay tuned for
more info, and when you live in the neighbourhood, consider a visit.
We still have a week or 6.

tracks;

1 Liyanzi ekoti na motema
2 Youyou
3 Na komipesa na nani
4 Kadima

Moos, that is Djo Mpoyi, not Djo Nolo. He is the lead singer on the fabulous KADIMA track.

Nah, just tried the Pepe Kalle. I can see the link but it’s not clickable, nothing happens. And I am NOT in China.

Just dawned on me, do I have to register or sign up or pay? I did grab some of your goodies a few weeks ago (for which I am very grateful!) with no problems like this though.

Dear CC, I am surprised that links do not work from where you are.
I tried them once more and can’t seem to find any problem. All my links are active as far as I can see. Nobody else complained aswell so what can I do?

Yes indeed. Your system is quite idiotproof, and worked just great a few weeks ago for me. I’ve tried it on 2 different computers, a Mac and my Acer netbook, and no luck. I can see the link on the Rapidshare page, but no little hand appears to click on it.
Just my bad fortune I guess. I’m grateful you can share with your followers anyway.

CC, I am really sad to hear you still can’t DL. If I look at my account with Rapidshare I see download numbers go up all the time. I wish I knew as how to help you out but I don’t.

Nice! we’re in Soest – just discovered yr blog while digitalising the record collection of my cambo, she has some 200 1970/80s congolese records – lots of Franco and more… Using the covers you scanned for making the CD covers.

Keep us posted on any parties in H’sum!
