From 1977 this is volume 1 of the great series ‘Les Grands Succes
des Éditions Vévé’. A collection of songs by some of the best of
the Congolese Orchestra’s. Les Kamale, Lipua Lipua and Engunduka
spoil us here with sweet harmony’s and swell 70’s rhythms.

    Thanks again oh Great One for another super post! The way some Congolese records labels name their artists’ songs can be a little puzzling. I don’t know whether it’s marketing genius to boost record sales or lack of oversight. Many songs appear under different titles (or spelling)on different releases. On this LP Ngali and Nsayi have different titles. Regardless of miscues I’m always glad to get the music. With vinyls records there’s always one better than the other. Please give us more in this Series. Many thanks again.

    Most seasoned East and Central Africans will agree with Anonymous above that they recognise Track N°2 as “Nsayi” and Track N°3 as “Ngali”.
    The mixed-up track names can be confusing for young people trying to survey the Golden Age of Congolese music. Anyway … thanks Moos for posting such great music!
