Wonderful line-up of musicians! The only unfamiliar name is Sophie Beatrice on vocals. The rest are stars. My link seems not to be working though so am still just admiring the line-up.

    Thank you a lot!!
i’ve been looking for this one for a long time, it´s a must!
i’ve just discovered your blog, what an amazing surprise for a soukous lover (and soukous guitar player, a good one, really)
Can I ask you for one album? I can’t find Rigo Star’s “Ne refuse pas”. Can someone help me to find it?

Best regards from Fernando, Zaragoza, Spain, really loving your work here!!!

Lokassa Ya Mbongo’s hallmark guitar skill rings out loud and clear. Somehow they just missed Sam Mangwana in the line-up but I guess the “pigeon voyageur” was on another musical mission. Thanks Moos.

  13. This album is currently available for download from CDBaby, iTunes, etc. Please support independent artists by purchasing their music. Believe me, Syran needs the money.

Listening to the last track ‘Bioula’, I cannot even imagine how Dally Kimoko thought of the composition starting at 2:45.
Also the 3rd track with Syran M’benza doing his magic at 1:50 – do not miss this.

About Syran, especially read the last paragraph – http://www.africanmusiciansprofiles.com/SyranMbenza.htm

Will do so, Minister. Is Syran still playing with Samba Mapangala? I heard the BBC recording of their concert at the (I think 2009) Sauti Za Busara festival in Zanzibar and they were in fine form.

Hello Grumpy: Jambo from Samba. Syran does indeed play live from time to time with Virunga depending on the location; we were blessed to have him join us on the East Africa tour. He also participated in the new album about to be released: Maisha ni Matamu (Life is Sweet). Check Samba’s Facebook fan page for updates and the new video. Thanks for your support and interest!

Asante sana, Samba. Habari yako? Really looking forward to the release of Maisha ni Matamu. Do you know when it will be available in shops in England (or to buy online)?
