Le Peuple,Editions Moninga Star

Le Peuple, front

Today’s post concerns a very nice Congolese album
on which I did not find any useful info. I can tell you that
the group are; Kifouetti Loubassou, François Mackosso,
Alphonse Mavungu and Tino Muinkua Mvura. It was released
on Editions Moninga Star. Very bright sound, sparkling guitars,
tight rhythms, hot saxophone and sweet vocals, just the thing for
your sunday afternoon, and mine. Hope U enjoy.

tracks;

1 Massavi fololo y’ Africa
2 Nzoto ya muana ya moto
3 Absence
4 Luta

    There are two of these albums. Both have the same artist’s work on the sleeve. On one ablum is the song Absence,on the other is the song Presence.
    This is Loubassou in his pre-Euro soukouss days and the band from Trio Ce.Pa.Kos.

    I just caught up with this one. I think it’s from 1981 because, according to Discogs, the single “Nzoto ya muana ya moto” was issued that year.

    Discogs thinks this and Orchestre Le Peuple are the same band. Or someone else is just as confused :)
