Originally registered on Éditions Isa, Zaïre, this is a true
beauty. As ‘african 360.127’ it was released in 1979, the
recordings must be a bit older though. Four wonderful songs

Thanks Moos! Another awesome treat from Tabu Ley Rochereau. 1979 … A year down the discography and you might even find the highly-sought-after “Sorozo” album. I’m ever on the hunt for it precisely because it contains the track “Ibrahim” which I’d love to hear as it originally sounded. (Sigh – I used to handle that vinyl LP way back in 1981, in a splendid flat in Nairobi West).

Thanks Moos for this great Tabu Ley LP! My period of Tabu Ley & Afrisa is from the Mid 70’s towards the Early 90’s that’s when his music was really good, if you more from that time period keep it coming.

Thanks for posting this wonderful album. It might take the prize for the worst looking record sleeve hiding some of the BEST music ever. I saw this at one of my local shops and in spite of the cover i saw the words Sonodisc, and the date and thought I’d do some research. Which led me, of course, to your brilliant blog. w/o it i never would have the courage to plunk down $ for this gem. So thank you so much, you’ve made my day.
They also had a Tabu Ley called ‘trop c’est trop!’. Not sure when that one is from. Earlier i had picked up the african fiesta Tabu Ley record with Sam M. Didn’t have to preview that one first, it’s a beauty. Side B on this one is particularly amazing. The guitar playing is just haunting.
