Let’s continue to fill up the gaps in ‘african’s 360.000 list.
Today’s post concerns number 360.155 from 1986. We
already found a few of these songs on other collectors on
this label, #’s 2 and 4 for instance. The major part however
wasn’t exposed yet. If you’re into Congolese music, you
may consider this a classic, don’t miss it !

This is great masterpiece music from Ntesa. He was someone who knew how to make dynamic songs. He was someone who was the man. He was someone who had a genius mind. I enjoy this work. Ntesa is someone who is a master in his own right.

Great band, magnificent music.
But I think the cover info might be wrong. It says these songs are from 1968 and 1969, but this orchestre (in this incarnation, with this name) only came together in 1969, after Sam Mangwana and Guvano left. Before they were called Festival des Maquisards.
I got this info from that great book Rumba on the River, but it doesn’t say much else about this band.
