Orchestre Sinza – 76,Pathé Marconi / EMI 1975

Orchestre Sinza, front

We had several of their lp’s before. Pierre Moutouari,
and his brother Kosmos were part of this great band
through the seventies. This is Orchestre Sinza, the
mordant sound of their electric guitars is brought to
expression in this wonderful frontcover image. See
that vicious looking snake approaching the bass
and suggesting a tension of some kind. Well, just
play it and you’ll understand. You’ll feel a sense
of toxication, stupefying yet not venomous. I dare
say, this lp belongs to the best ever
posted at the Global Groove.

tracks;

1 Mamy giro
2 Samba mirita
3 Basi ba keseni
4 Ba kento
5 Qui vivra verra
6 Wa ba kandi tetoka
7 Doudou No.2
8 Tchy-tchy
9 Loutina
10 Mouboyo

Oh my gosh I cant wait to hear this one
Sinza Kitoko, what a dance group, just goes to proove yet again why the Congolese reigned over the african music scene for a long time with the rest chomping at their heals

    Hey moos
You posted this album once before, the reissue on the Sonafric label.
This HAS to be one of the best albums of all time, I agree.
It also HAS to have one of the best cover photos of all time. That pit viper and guitar on the concrete floor. So cool, so hot, so deadly good.

A green mamba if I’m not mistaken. You certainly don’t want to encounter one of those curled up in your guitar case.

    Looking forward to hearing this.

That’s indeed superb music. And the cover art is certainly the best I have ever seen, here or elsewhere, seriously! I think it is indeed a green mamba.

Feliz ano novo e espero que tenhamos mais joias como esta ao longo de 2012!

I love this great Congolese Brazza band. This was one of the genius albums I have seen for some time. I find this band so valuable. Thank you Moos, hope you post a 1987 Nzinzi by King Kester.

What a great record! The Congolese version of Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir. I wonder if the Grateful Dead ever heard this band.

On the malware issue, I access this site in Explorer on both XP and Windows 7 machines. I’ve never had a problem or an alert. Perhaps other users are getting a false positive from their malware or virus software?
