Many people ask for the re-up of these two lp’s. Robert Johnson’s
famous ‘King of the Delta Blues Singers’. I posted the widely agreed
slower versions which I made with the help of my Technics turntable.
As you can see, everybody seems to like them better than the
original too fast copies, I absolutely do too. Pass them on and
spread the word, the slower versions are the right ones.

At last I’ve got the two origianl LPs on CD – at the right speed. Many thanks Moos. I also have a Technics turtable, and at the suggestion of a friend had tried this years ago.
I also think the tracks of Robert Wilkins are too fast….
Sorry to be the bad guy, but I am among the ones who think the original recordings were not speeded.
I listened both versions, slow and “speed”, and the faster one seems far more natural, regarding the voice timbre and guitar playing.
By closing the eyes, you can really feel him, imagine yourself singing and playing the same way.
Well, it’s hard to explain, it’s really all about timbre.
The slower version sounds indeed pretty good, more relaxing, warmer, but somewhat false, offset to my ear.
Sure, the original version could sounds too fast to a modern ear, but well, it was really another time, another period. To me, this is raw music, like crying, singing sad stories, about real despair, not melancolic or warm memories.
