Hi Moos, another great post indeed! I own a copy of it two, but I always filed it in my samplers collection, assuming Ya Tamba is a person, not a band. E.G. I am pretty sure we hear Pepe Kalle/Empire Bakuba in track 4 Trahision Hadas. I think most of it is OK jazz, I owned track 3 on 45rpm and the label actually said OK Jazz. I do know for sure that Josky was in already Orchestre Continental (wonderful “jobs rythms” band) before joining OK Jazz.
But was Josky in O.K. Jazz since 1974.
Never heard of this group. Not that this is a big surprise, but it’s great to keep receiving more content from this golden period of Congolese rumba. Thanks, Moos!
Like you Fried I was also assuming Ya Tamba to be a group. Afrter your comment however I now doubt I was right. Editions Ya Tamba seems to point out it was a label.
If anyone knows, please enlighten us all wit the truth on this matter..
