A really big thank you. Some of these songs I had on a cassette tape which was damaged long time ago. Didn’t hear them for many years. Rik

One cannot underestimate the importance of the Grand Kalle and African Jazz on the history of modern Congolese/Zarois music. Joseph Kabasale founded the genre of Afro-Cuban music in the rumba lingala style. Wonderful stuff. Several CDs issued about 20 something years ago by the French label Sonodisc, who also released much music by Tabu Ley Pascal Rochereau, who took over the African Jazz tradition. A big up for this posting. muito importante.

A big thanks Moos. I also think Le Grand Kalle was very important, he made many beautiful records.
