Taking a step forward to the late eighties period in London
with On-U Sound producer Adrian Sherwood we’ve got this
Time Boom X De Devil Dead. Quite a different feeling from
the old Black Ark sound. Still, typical Perry madness ..
We springen een eind voorwaarts in de geschiedenis met deze
Time Boom X De Devil Deaduit zijn latere jaren 80 Londen pe-
riode met de On-U Sound producer Adrian Sherwood. Tamelijk
ander geluid dan de vroegere Black Ark tijd maar
nog altijd de typische Perry gekte ..

Moos, thanks for sharing this and hopefully opening a few ears which weren’t too aware of the work of the genius that is Lee Perry. It’s one of the better Dub Syndicate releases of the early noughties and is much under-rated. Listeners may also like to track down Dub Setter, another On-U release with Adrian Sherwood, which is IMHO the best of all their collaboraitve efforts.
Got this on cassette when it came out. A dub of the whole album would be great.
In 1987 zond de VPRO nummers van dit album uit op de radio.
Meteen naar de platenzaak, maar het bleek de pre-release op On-U sounds te zijn, zeer beperkte oplage, dus geen geluk.
Een paar maanden later kwam de officiele editie uit op Emi, gelijk aangeschaft natuurlijk, op cassette getaped en iedereen die ik kende gek gemaakt!
Ik heb de cd-versie, want in de jaren 90 heb ik al mijn lp’s vekocht, ook deze.
Dus het is geweldig om ‘m weer eens van vinyl te horen!

En ja een dub versie zou geweldig zijn!
Maar dat zit er waarschijnlijk niet in aangezien emi moeilijk doet tegen Sherwood over de rechten.

Greetings GG thanks for d On U Sound music…By the way Im looking for a compilation called “Pay All Back Vol 4″I’ve bought it in Germany and once at home I founded completely something else in the CD box,…I met later on the guys At Reggae Sundance in 98 and claim my CD which of course they didn’t admit…since that time im looking for that cd no way to find it …probably out of stock …so please if you have a copy can you post it for me?…..On u Sound are indeed my favourite new dub wave…All d best
