Four Stars – Quatre Étoiles
Four Stars Production FS 401
We used to have a few more albums with Four Stars, Quatre Étoiles
than we have today. Some of their records appeared on Syllart Records
however and they forced me to remove every one of their releases.
A band like this one deserves to find a place here at the Global Groove
and fortunately we have some left which did not appear on Syllart.
The album we find here today is a ‘Four Star Production’, it opens with
a live recording of five songs and then continues with 3 studio recorded
ones. Get them and spread them like usual ..

A great band that I always enjoy listening to since the first LP you posted. Thanks for sharing this one. I have some Congolese records that I will share with you in the future once I find the time and energy to rip them properly
Hey Moos …
I found another album on Discogs by these great guys. The introducer to the live-part says “Kilimanjaro”, and a little googlin’ later I found this link, also on Discogs:
https://www.discogs.com/4-Etoiles-Zairean-Stars-Show-In-The-US-Kilimanjaro-Heritage-Hall/release/5799092
It’s the same setlist and crew, it’s released in 1988. Just to let you know.
I will point out that your site rocks everybody else’s nuts off. Thank you
Thanks as always, Moos.
I think those two albums are different releases (French & US) of the same record – see notes in discography here

The Kilimanjaro was a club in Adams Morgan, DC that had great live African music in the 1980s. It’s possible that I saw this show there.
Merci mille fois, mon ami!
Good day! I could have sworn I’ve been to this website before but after going through some of the
posts I realized it’s new to me. Regardless, I’m definitely pleased I came across it and I’ll be bookmarking it
and checking back regularly!
