Yedenou Adjahoui et son Groupe
Folklorique d’Avrankou-Benin
Volume 2/78
Albarika Store ALS 057, 1978 ?

To me it sounds a bit like Nigerian styles like fuji, apala or waka.
It is quite hard to determine the difference between them. This
is from Benin and also Islamic based with only rhythm and vocals.
This album is not on Discogs. Awesome Tapes from Africa had it
as a casette once. The music is quite enjoyable and
apparently rare, I don’t know how the
style is called. Hope you like it ..

Voor mij klinkt het een beetje als de Nigeriaanse stijlen als fuji,
apala of waka.
Awesome Tapes
from Africa had hem ooit als casette. Ik weet niet hoe
deze stijl heet maar de muziek is erg
fijn. Haal binnen en luister zelf ..

Probably from 1978 (see the title and the release number from ALS). I Agree with you Moos, close to Nigerian music like Apala but more vocals oriented perhaps (choeur) and a nice flute is coming sometimes. Percussions are differents from Apala or Fuji with bells and vocal games (call & response for example).
After several listenings, it’s a very nice discover to me.
    Thanks a lot Moos.
