Folclore Angolano vol. 1 – Various Artists
N’Gola 1975
From a crate digging trip in Portugal we find this quite rare
collector of Angolan semba. An underrated type of music
that can clearly use some more attention. Our dear colleague
Stefan from Worldservice brought us ‘Folclore de Angola‘ in
2009, an album which contains a few of the same artists and
from the same period. It is very difficult to find records from
Angola, with a bit of luck on the next record fair.
Get it and spread it ..
Pak weer mee
en deel met je vrienden ..

Great album, thanks a lot. By any chance, do you have … Jiang Jian Hua – The Earth (JVC, 1997)? All the best, Pete
I don’t have that one Pete ..
Yes great music from Angola. With the last posts of Holland Tunnel Dive, it makes a good panorama of Angolan music from the 70’s. One of the best of the continent in my opinion.
Thanks a lot Moos.
Thanks for another surprising lusaphon rarity. The cover doesn’t hint of it’s contained contemporary tasty tidbits. Mournful yet uplifting pleasures abound. Cheers
Great music right there. The Worldservice blog has been silent for the past 2 years though & is truly missed
thanks Moos, and also for the link to WorldService – I’d somehow missed this post.
cheers Dennis ..
