From the very East, tonight we move over to the very West.
It was not very original of me to put together a collector of singles.
Take a look at this one, Decca West Africa came with this
collection of six ten-inch singles in 1963. Imagine that in
one year, the record will be 50 years old. Snatch this
swell compilation of Ghanaian and Nigerian

For this fine saturday I’ve got something a whole bunch of
you go crazy about. It is another lp by one of those Ghanaian
groups who recorded in Nigeria. Opambuo International Band
of Ghana brings us this typical sound. Ghanaian highlife with
a Nigerian sauce over it. Being a heretic I regret one title but I
just love the sound of it so it got through anyway. The album
is on Rogers All Stars and from 1982, guaranteed topnotch
production, it’s rare, it sounds beautiful, better take it quick.I am sorry I didn’t re-up anything during the past few days,
just too damned busy to find the time, today I
did some 20 highlife albums though,
stay tuned and hang on…tracks;
1 Kiss me and smile
2 Me kuta me korah
3 I pray to god
4 Maye maye anye yie

this is wonderful music. Eversince I keep searching for his
work and shortly got lucky. Check this 10″ on Decca West
Africa, a great find I wanna share with you today. Listen.tracks;

After bringing several Ghanaian groups who operated from
Nigeria, today a band who stayed at home. This 1981 album
by Atakora Manu must have been recorded in at least two
sessions. We hear 6 instruments and only have three
musicians. Atakora Manu, Maringe and Moses
Akwaboa did a good job, I would not have
noticed without reading the backsleeve.
Only 25 minutes but you don’t
wanna miss dem…tracks;
