This could be one of those bands from Ghana who
operated from Nigeria. On Rogers All Stars we find
this 1980 LP by ‘Canadoes Super Stars Band of Ghana’.
The bass player on this album immediately caught my
attention, amazing rhythms and voices to complete the beat.
Highlife Haven once gave us a song, today we’ve got us
a RAS recording from the year 1980, love it or leave it.tracks;

Last thursday’s post on Okukuseku Int. Band of Ghana
found quite a few happy ears. Another Ghanaian group
that operated from Nigeria is this one. This LP was pro-
duced by Jomo Records from Aba, Lagos, Nigeria. It might
be the first appearance on the web for this band, I didn’t
find anything about them. If you did, please show us.tracks;

Third LP by this artist at this page. As usual I can’t
really tell you anything useful about him. I am not even
sure if I like the message he is bringing. The only thing
I am absolutely sure of is what my ears tell me. And that
is something good ! Whether it’s is Ghanaian or Nigerian,
I don’t know and I don’t care, it is a real treat !tracks;

I received a request for more City Boys Band. This one has
a life behind him, it’s a bit crackly but still. Finding albums
like this is getting harder all the time so we must take it as
it is. I do not experience it as disturbing and we don’t have any
audio-fanatics here. In short, enjoy this old slice of vinyl…tracks;

The African Brothers had a song with the same title,
‘Owuo aye me bi’. If it’s written by them or by the great
Alex Konadu, I do not know. One way or the other, nice
song. I am very happy to be able to present you another
LP by this wonderful Ghanaian artist, listen to Alex Konadu.lead vocal – Alex Konadu ( One man thousand )

We had us some 10 or 11 of their albums already. The African Brothers
must have been the most popular highlife group in Ghana. I hardly ever
heard anything I didn’t like by their hand. Wonderful atmospheric music
you can’t deny, so… do not hesitate and listen to this treasure..tracks;

This is the first time I am making available an album without
the right cover. I am showing the cover I bought it in, but it’s
the wrong one unfortunately. Highlife Haven posted a song from
the LP we see, in february. The LP I am posting now has a mystery-
sleeve up to now. If You know or have the right sleeve to this album,
please send it to us so we all can fit it in afterwards, thanks so much.
The album is from 1976 on ‘bhm’, Made in Ghana by R.M.G.L.
KBL 017, copyright Brobisco 1197618, led by Nana Agyemang
vocal: Koo Darkey, enjoy and solve our little problem ?
btw, I named it after track #1, not knowing if that’s correct.tracks;

Amsterdam is a city with hundreds of nationalities. Last
sunday I met people from Bolivia, Argentina, Senegal,
Sierra Leone, Surinam and the Netherland’s Antilles of
course, from Congo, Brazil and Ghana. This one goes out
to the last one. Mr. Moses K. Oppon alias Kakaiku is here
with an album that was posted by Afro-Slabs in 2009. The
blog seems dead since one year, what happened ? Anyway,
this LP deserves a second chance, if you didn’t get it the
first time, take it while you can. Highlife to get your life high..

Here’s an other LP on which the African Brothers console
the bereaved using words like allah, jah and god. Personally,
I would rather read some Lao Tse on a moment like that, but who
am I ? On this 1982 LP, we miss one title. The sleeve speaks
of three songs while the actual vinyl counts four. Can you clear
up this mystery ? What’s the name of track 4 ? Thanks in advance.tracks;

Second Album by Yamoah’s Band which started in 1957
under this name. Leader of the group is Peter Kwabena
Yamoah. Unfortunately the hole in the middle is not
located as it should be which causes the music to get
falser towards the end of the sides. Still, especially in
the beginning of the LP, it is very enjoyable.
Listen to this rare Ghanaian highlife.tracks;
