Last night’s post also disappeared so we’ll post this
LP again too. It’s a rare album of funky psychadelic
highlife, a more or less ‘ungooglable’ gem. I had written
down all them difficult names for you but since blogger
threw my posts away, get the info from the backsleeve
after downloading it. Hope you like it.tracks;

This record album is a special donation by Nana Kwame
Ampadu I to Okwahu United Football Club ( Asaase Aban )
as his personal contribution towards the upkeep and running
of the club. Very relaxed and laid back highlife by master
Nana Kwame Ampadu I who delivers as always.
For your lazy sunday afternoon, enjoy.tracks;

One of the happiest Ghanaian dance bands of the days is
without doubt Jerry Hansen’s Ramblers Dance Band. Track
after track straight dance material you can’t resist. I don’t
know about you but I am instantly happy when I put this on.
Delightful vocal parts over well arranged orchestral moves
It will make you wanna dance till dawn,
Just the thing for saturdaynight,

Second LP by this artist at the GG. I am sorry to inform
you a-side has a few unfortunate pops. I guess it’s been
played a couple of times before. Still, however a bit crackly
it is worth a spin or two. By the way, don’t you think Bob
looks spectacular and supercool at this hot sleeve ?

Highlife comes in various forms and styles, Nigerian or
Ghanaian for instance are quite different. I tend to favour
the last one. This LP by Akwasi Yeboah is a striking
example of a style I adore. Hope you feel the same way.
Strange, label says ‘Menua ne memuna’ and cover ‘Memuna etc.’
Enjoy this rare album on the Famous Ride Away Records.tracks;

It’s been quite a while since we had us some ‘African Brothers’.
This LP is titled ‘Sanbra’, after the song written by Alex Konadu.
It does not tell us from which year it is, do you know ? It does
tell us it’s a Nigerian production on Jay Jay Records, listen.tracks;

This morning I received a comment about the passing of
master Alex Konadu. I had heard it some time ago but
today finally, we honour him. I don’t know from what year this
LP is. It contains a medley of 7 songs on the a-side and
5 songs seperate on the b-side. Ghanaian highlife at it’s best.
Read backsleeve for more details, it’s in the file. Cheers folks.tracks;

One of the originators of the non-stop style highlife from
Ghana. Around 1975 it was the ‘in thing’. Three tracks
in which 5 numbers. Smart Nkansah did a fine job, here
aswell as with the Sweet Talks as resident band of the
talk of the town hotel ‘Tema’. Love it or leave it..tracks;

On Ambassador Records, this is LPAM 029. An album of
Ghanaian highlife by Atakora Manu. You might have heard
that track 11 on my recently made highlife compilation.
I found out about Atakora not so long ago but the more I hear,
the more I like his music. These three songs from an unknown
release-year are very much worth listening to, hope U enjoy.tracks;
