  1. Finally I’ve been looking for this masterpiece! Diblo is one of the greatest master of the guitar, they call him machine gun funk on how fast his fingers go along the fretboard. Thanks Moos! Do you have any stuff from the group Loketo also Kanda Bongo Man I’m looking for his Sai and Lela Lela – Lowazo LP.

  3. in my time, kelele wasn’t so much top drawer as the draw you pulled out after the top drawer.

in case the people still didn’t get it, this track proved the soukous was the best dance music in town.

the best seben in my box, no doubt. As you say: difficult to follow up

This blog is amazing. But I did wonder how long it would take to get to this LP!!

I guess, we both know there are a few tunes still to come..

all power to u. this blog is amazing

  5. Thanks.
Diblo is an absolute reference for soukous guitar. I have been posting a transcription of Super K on youtube and there is so much material that I had to break it in 9 parts, when any other guitarist would use not more than two or three of those lines for a song, and after a month or so I am still at part 5

  7. The very first album of music from Africa that I bought (over 25 years ago) was a cutout I found in the bin at Rose Records at Wabash & Adams in Chicago. It was Kanda Bonga Man’s “Amour Fou” with Diblo and Rigo (said “Ringo” on the back) Star. I was completely blown away, and at the time I had no idea that this was just the tip of a humongous iceberg of really cool music. Amour Fou is still one of my favorite albums, soukous is still my favorite music, and Diblo is still my favorite guitarist.
Thanks Moos for giving us great music again & again!

  9. I just found this album at my local record shop today in absolutely mint condition. Truly fantastic, and I really wish that I could still get the mp3's to accompany me on the road. 🙁

  10. Does anyone have details on the production of this amazingly hilarious video – when/where? Car has french plates – 70s model Simca? Can anyone provide a translation of the lyrics? Lingala? Super K – I can listen to this non-stop (and have watched the video at least 30 times).
