African Acoustic vol. 2
Kenya Dry…
Town & Country Guitar
1950 – 1965
Original Music 1988

Hello, good morning, today we find another slice of Original Music,
on John Storm Robert’s label. More magnificent recordings by the
master. We had a couple on earlier occasions and this one is as
exceptional as most of them. Only acoustic stuff as the title
already states. Get it & Spread it as usual ..

Hey goeiemorgen, vandaag vinden we weer eens zo’n plaat met
Original Music op John Storm Robert’s gelijknamige label. Meer
van die uitzonderlijk goede opnames van de meester zelf. We
hadden er eerder al een aantal en deze is net zo mooi als de
meeste ervan. Uitsluitend akoestisch geluid zoals de titel
reeds suggereert. Down, deel en luister als gebruikelijk ..

Hah! Moos, my last week’s show featured Original Music, including this one. I was fortunate to correspond with John Roberts, and to this day am astounded at the music he plumbed and introduced to a wider world. Although seemingly neglected, he was instrumental in the creation of the “world music” boom, even as he decried that label and its marketing. He would be thrilled, I think, to have his releases spread freely through the world. Thanks!!
