Koffi Olomide
Ngounda
Bakendeke Mboka Mopaya Likombe te
Tchika 1983

in Brussel. Deze plaat is zeker enkele omwentelingen waard.
Luister en kijk wat jij ervan vindt ..

I must say Koffi Olomide’s later work is not my favourite.
His early works are, to my humble opinion, a lot more interesting.
According to Discogs this is Koffi’s first album from 1983, recorded
under advisory of Joski Kiambukuta in Studio Madeleine in Brussels.
This record is worth at least a couple of spins, listen
and make up your own mind ..

Thanks, Moos. This album is indeed splendid, unsurprisingly O.K. Jazz-ish via the production by Josky, but I much appreciate this better than his later, over-produced “star” exercises.

    cheers,

I like the B side from this. I did not know. — I have seen him once in my town early 2000s. They started after 0:00 AM. Usually the warm-up takes 3/4 hour until the main singers enter the stage. At Koffi they played 3 hours until Koffi came on stage. And what I never have seen, all people run to the front to dance from then.
